Our Inspiration
Meet Powder, our inspiration for this special project. Powder was born with a genetic disorder that causes excessive feather growth, often referred to as "Feather Duster" syndrome. In addition to the obvious difference in appearance, this genetic disorder comes with a whole host of other distinctions. We have successfully raised other budgies yet have never heard of cases like this; nor were we prepared for the substantial hands-on care Powder would require. Our Other Inspiration: Trouble
Meet Trouble, Powder's younger sibling and companion from a different egg clutch. Trouble and Powder have the same parents and are two months apart. Trouble is one of three babies in his clutch and was, sadly, rejected by his siblings. Luckily he found a companion and surrogate father in, no other than, Powder! Read More >...
